WHAT IS IT?

Researchers have created new battery chemistry, a fluorine-based electrolyte that facilitates the smooth transportation of lithium ions in freezing conditions, with testing showing a stable energy storage capacity for 400 charge-discharge cycles even at -4°F.

WHY IMPORTANT

This fluorine-containing electrolyte remains efficient in sub-zero temperatures, addressing the issue of charging electric vehicles in cold climates.
