WHY IMPORTANT
In the last three years, workplaces have changed more rapidly than in the previous three decades — and the rate of change is only going to accelerate. Labor shortages, shifts in employee expectations (especially among Gen Z), and the adoption of transformative new technologies have changed the types of positions organizations need to fill, as well as the skills needed to perform them. Key trends that will shape the future of work are generative AI and skills-based hiring. According to the World Economic Forum's 2023 Future of Jobs Report, 44 percent of worker skills will be disrupted over the next five years — with analytical skills, creative thinking, and technological literacy among those in the greatest demand.
