WHAT IS IT?

In 2022, consumers will be affected more than ever before by cyber threats. Accordingly, we need to make sure that cybersecurity does not neglect the consumer.

WHY IMPORTANT

Many cybercriminals are leveraging what they’ve learned from attacking enterprises and are starting to employ those skills to attack the consumer. There’s a certain “playbook” that is used to transfer these skills, and most consumers are completely unaware that they are likely to be a target. In order to protect consumers, there needs to be further education and awareness surrounding advanced threats that hacking groups such as REvil and DarkSide utilize.

The tremendous potential for AI to have a transformative impact in oncology, helping make clinical cancer care more effective, efficient, and patient centric.

WHY IMPORTANT

Only a few years ago, these imagined scenarios may have seemed far-fetched, but no longer. Increasingly, and with exponential pace, AI algorithms are finding their way into the oncology clinic. Here, I will review some of the promising ways in which these AI algorithms are poised to improve clinical cancer care for providers and patients.

The World Economic Forum's Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2022 presents critical findings from 120 global cyber leaders on how to shift from cybersecurity to cyber resilience.

WHY IMPORTANT
The COVID-19 pandemic has expedited the use of digital tools in business and the home. These advances in digitalization have led to increasingly frequent, costly and damaging cyber incidents.

The World Bank estimates that, by 2022, annual total internet traffic will increase by about 50% from 2020 levels, reaching 4.8 zettabytes. If you were to store 4.8 zettabytes on DVDs, your stack of DVDs would be long enough to circle the Earth six times.

Gen Z, defined as those born between 1997 and 2012, and span elementary school and college students- the oldest of which are just now entering the workplace

WHY IMPORTANT

Gen Z’s HAVE THE innate ability to adapt to new technologies. Gen Z also distinctly brings a whole new skill set to the workplace, having grown up in a world where internet access and smartphones were a normal part of life. Being technologically savvy means they are consistently connected with one another in a digital world but are less inclined to feel that face-to-face interactions are as critical as prior generations

WHY IMPORTANT
Facial recognition in law enforcement has the ability to track down criminals or missing persons with a body-worn police camera that could instantly identify people in a crowd, even if they wear masks, make-up or camouflage, and could match them to photographs dating back decades.

The facial recognition industry was worth about $3.7 billion in 2020, according to market research firm Mordor Intelligence, which projected growth to $11.6 billion by 2026.

There is a solution for our new remote reality: asynchronous work. With almost one-quarter of office jobs are fully remote, millions of people are no longer stuck in offices and distributed work—whether it’s hybrid or 100% distributed—is more widely accepted for many careers. But the world had never been built for distributed teams or remote work. We’ve always been told to go to the office, see people face-to-face, use the tools provided by the company, and do our best to stay afloat.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
Companies are waking up to the current problems with distributed work and see the need for more flexible solutions. For example, constant messaging from an app like Slack can cause anxiety for teammates in other time zones, when they receive pings throughout all hours of the night or even on weekends. Being on Zoom all the time leads to people having to join meetings late at night or early in the morning.
