skull 150x150Why STEM?

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) are integrated into many industries and some of the fastest growing careers in the country. STEM creates critical thinkers, problem solvers, and pioneering minds which are the driving force behind innovation and a thriving economy. Young children can be inspired to pursue STEM by introducing them to the many cool and exciting job opportunities available in these fields.

Highlighted Career…

Do you ever wonder how dinosaurs lived? How did they interact with each other and their environment? What about our human ancestors? What kind of life did they experience? These are some of the questions paleontologists try to answer every day. Paleontologists spend time outside hunting for fossils and spend time in a laboratory cleaning, identifying and examining their discoveries. A career in Paleontology is fun, fascinating and challenging.

For more information of what a career in Paleontology is like, check out the videos below and the following link for an interview with Ken Lacovara, a Paleontologist and Geologist: STEM-works.com.
