Water Coolers, first Thursday’s, 4:00-5:00PM (EST), an historical metaphor for camaraderie, communication and collaboration, with the first part delivering an expert’s HOT Cooler topic important to you, then seguing to:

  • Contributing to conquering the challenges at hand

iDisruptor Tech Talks, delivered in a TED Talk style, featuring expert speakers updating you on how to harness the possibly game-changing, emerging technologies,(Tech Pipeline), the people and culture most effective to guide it (Talent Pipeline) and the rewards and risks relative (revenue Pipeline) to your current business model. Always informative, always thought provoking. Followed by a member-sponsored, catered happy hour.(when not virtual)

The combination of the two provide rewarding careers for our children, upskills our workforce, expands our regional economy and protects our national security. This evening gala honors those individuals.

This gala's hundreds of attendees include our key corporate sponsors, leading academic institutions, senior Aberdeen Proving Ground leaders and scientists, member company presidents, NMTC’s senior leadership, and other distinguished attendees.

Our honorees are recommended by the Academy of Visionary Awards along with the NMTC Visionary Awards Committee – a very deliberative process and worthy of the contributions these honorees make continuously to our community. The Academy of Visionary Awards now totals 133 previous honorees of these awards.

Demonstrated, in a bold way, the potential to be an excellent, long-term contributor to building our STEM-educated workforce or advancing technology & innovation. An individual may only be awarded the Rising Star Award once.

Innovator – ideas that make a difference

Recognizes exceptional personal efforts in development and implementation of innovative program(s) measurably benefiting building our STEM-educated workforce or advancing technology & innovation with the potential for broad positive impact in the community.

Leader – setting the pace for success

Acknowledges this individual’s steadfast, consistent contribution to the building our STEM-educated workforce or advancing technology & innovation in a public way while inspiring others to help in accomplishing shared goals.

Mentor– role models for future generations

Illuminates those consistently volunteering their knowledge, experiences, and wisdom by going above and beyond in using their personal time and resources simply for the love of stimulating and inspiring greatness in students, teachers, apprentices, interns or organization proteges.

Visionary  – a community role model in building our STEM-educated workforce and advancing technology & innovation to benefit the community, for a remarkable period of time

Significant contributions to the well-being of our total community displayed as above and beyond personal commitment to building our STEM-educated workforce or advancing technology & innovation with demonstrated qualities of enlightened leadership to benefit many others, over a remarkable period of time.

World of Wine is our annual collaborative and networking event showcasing the finest in wine, bourbon, scotch and craft beer complimented with lavish cuisine, with it all enjoyed in an incredible setting with stunning views of the Chesapeake Bay and Susquehanna River
