Postponed – The Next Digital Revolution – Converging multiple technologies into a new, powerful force
November 28, 2018, 12:30 – 4:30PM, Towson University in NE MD
510 Thomas Run Rd, Bel Air, MD 21015

The availability of 5G networks is rapidly growing. The result: an increase in bandwidth releases laboratory/office only applications to converge, become mobile and usable everywhere.

Through this convergence, results once considered impossible, will be achieved in the 5G era, thus creating a new world with both unimagined opportunities and unintended consequences – join us to determine which side you and your company are heading for.

The biannual NMTC Disruptive Tech Summits are designed to inform and motivate you to navigate profitably and securely through increasingly new and converging areas of technology, providing you an in-depth understanding of the opportunity, or threat, to come.

The digital Revolution Potential Triggered By 5G – Presented by Rohit Shirish Saraf, Verizon 5G Digital Ecosystems.
This presentation will explore the boundaries of 5G technology, to encourage local innovators to rethink what’s possible in a 5G world, and Verizon’s planned build-out of the awesome technology.

Augmented Reality Convergence with Voice Interface- John Thoma  and Dan Yaeger, Banc3 Corporation

Presentation describes the advances in Augmented Reality and new, intuitive designs that employ look-through optics to provide the headset user with complete awareness of their local surroundings, providing a context rich experience for the user that improves their efficiency while maintaining their safety. Explained are applications for Law Enforcement, Logistics and Supply Chain, Aerospace, Automotive, Virtual healthcare and medicine, and the construction industries

Building the Network – Low Power Ad Hoc Networking in Challenging Environments – Presented by Dr. Fikadu Dagefu, Tactical Network Assurance Branch, Army Research Laboratory.
This presentation describes recent advances on low power mobile ad-hoc networking in physically complex indoor and dense urban type environments. Specifically, recent developments that enable the use of underutilized channels for more robust communications and networking among autonomous agents with minimal infrastructure requirements will be described.

Keeping The Network Safe – Botnet detection using semi-supervised learning. Presented by Dr. Nandi Leslie, Raytheon/Army Research Laboratory.
This presentation describes a network intrusion detection system (NIDS) for detecting breaches prior to reaching the highly-valued targets in Internet of things (IoT) or networked devices. It’s an improvement in detection accuracy and NIDS efficiency and will reduce the burden on the human analysts to sift through NIDS alerts that are often riddled with false alarms.

Addition topic of convergence with 5G – Thomas Sepka US Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) Tactical Communication Division.
This presentation will present on 5G technology.

Pulling It Together – Internet of Things (IOT), the latest and where are we going – Todd Marks, CEO, Founder & President of Mindgrub Technologies.
This presentation describes the both the commercial, expanding opportunities to now use more IoT devices; from sensors that surveil to controlling homes, vehicles, and machines remotely, in office application, health care, person-to person communications, smart cities, driverless vehicles, along with the risks possible with this massive ability to now track what we do.
